October 2026 Beauty Industry Social Media Guideline
September 23, 2026
⚠️ October 2026 Key Dates and Content Notes
-
All Month — Breast Cancer Awareness Month / Pink October Use pink nail designs, pink ribbon-inspired art and simple awareness content. Do not create donation campaigns without client approval, and do not turn breast cancer awareness into a regular sales promotion.
-
Oct. 12 — Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples’ Day The name and meaning of this day vary by state and city. Do not post a generic “Happy Columbus Day” message across all accounts. Most beauty businesses can skip holiday marketing entirely. If business hours change, post a simple holiday hours update only.
-
Oct. 25-31 — National Massage Therapy Awareness Week Massage studios can focus on service introductions, therapist features, treatment-room content and self-care. 2026 marks the 30th year of National Massage Therapy Awareness Week.
-
Oct. 31 — Halloween Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, so parties, costumes and weekend plans will be more concentrated around the final weekend of the month. Increase Halloween-related content starting in mid-to-late October rather than waiting until the final few days.
Week 1: Oct. 1-11
Theme: 2026 Fall Beauty Trends + Pink October
Content Ideas
- Feature current fall trends such as jelly finishes, chrome, jewels, sweater nails and square shapes.
- Mix in pink nails, pink ribbon nail art and Pink October content throughout the week.
- Spas, lash studios and massage businesses can shift toward warmer fall visuals, such as warm lighting, brown tones and a cozy self-care atmosphere.
English Caption Examples
“Fall nails are having a moment 🍂 Jelly finishes, chrome details and square shapes are everywhere this season.”
“October is going pink 🎀 A fresh pink set for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
Week 2: Oct. 12-18
Theme: Fall Color Season + Seasonal Self-Care
Content Ideas
- Feature fall shades such as cherry mocha, espresso brown, olive green, plum, deep red and metallic silver.
- Spas and massage studios can post seasonal self-care, treatment-room, relaxation and routine-focused content.
- Begin adding a small amount of darker inspiration, such as black cherry, dark cat-eye and chrome, to transition naturally toward Halloween.
- Do not post “Happy Columbus Day” on Oct. 12. If business hours change, post an hours update only.
English Caption Examples
“Cherry mocha, espresso brown and deep plum 🍒 October color season is officially here.”
“Cooler days, warmer tones and a little extra time for yourself 🤎”
Week 3: Oct. 19-25
Theme: Halloween Beauty Begins + Fall-to-Dark Transition
Content Ideas
- Start increasing Halloween-related content with costume-matching nails, black French tips, dark lashes, cat-eye designs and gothic glam.
- Continue featuring regular fall looks as well, so clients who do not celebrate Halloween or prefer more subtle styles still have options.
- Starting Oct. 25, massage studios can begin National Massage Therapy Awareness Week content.
English Caption Examples
“Spooky season is officially showing up 🖤 Black cherry, cat-eye and dark chrome are in.”
“Not ready for full Halloween nails? Deep reds, black French and chrome still bring the October mood.”
Month-End Sprint: Oct. 26-31
Theme: Halloween Weekend + Massage Therapy Awareness Week
Content Ideas
- Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, so focus this week on Friday/Saturday party prep, Halloween transformations and client nail roundups.
- Use Reels, before-and-after content and “Favorite Halloween Sets” roundups instead of relying only on a simple “Happy Halloween” graphic.
- Massage studios can use National Massage Therapy Awareness Week to feature therapists, treatment rooms, service experiences and regular self-care.
